US Season 1 - Peters - CLOSED

Open or closed? CLOSED
Location: Babylon, NY

Episode Summary: Owned by Peter's sister, Peter ran the show, slowly dragging the restaurant down by giving profits away in comped drinks and meals. Gordon soon discovered he was more interested in maintaining his image by spending on himself than the restaurant as they were left with a crippled kitchen. Cue the bill collectors and the aggressive arguments, this episode is surely entertaining. Gordon gave them new equipment and ensured Peter started pulling his weight.

What happened next: Gordon revisited and all looked well, Peter had replaced the chefs in the kitchen and seemed to had started helping in the restaurant. Reviews after Gordon visited say the place was just as bad after he left. However the restaurant closed in December 2008 and it appears nothing has reopened at the address since.

  1. A restaurant/bar next door called The Post Office Cafe took over the space and expanded into it, so the address doesn't exist anymore.

    1. Don't forget embezzeler, phony tough-guy, and total loser. The way this guy mooched and robbed from his own sister is just unforgivable and she was probably stuck will all the bills when the place closed.

  5. I was embarrassed on the behalf of Gordon Ramsay after seeing this episode. I first watched U.K. Kitchen Nightmares and saw Owners/Waiters and most of the time, Chef's, show Ramsay a certain level of respect. There was an authenticity and a genuine honesty. With this first airing and restaurant, I saw none of that. I saw a man full of pride and possibly steroids make a fool of himself. Peter was all about his image, how he was going to be perceived on camera and off. You could tell he was not all there. I knew ten minutes in that Peter's was not going to have an OPEN end result. As a New Yorker it embarrassed me to see, well, the typical 'Meathead' or 'Mobster/Mobster wannabe' represent the U.S. edition of Gordon's T.V. "franchise". Peter's set the tone, sadly, for the other episodes and seasons.

  7. Peter is a self centered egotistical person. All show and no substance.

  9. I hope the sister separated herself from her lowlife brother in any future business endeavors. He really is over the top, criminal, and appears to have to redeeming qualities whatsoever.

  10. Felt sorry for the sister as the brother was a piece of shit, she should have shown him the door.

  13. It is July 31, 2014, and BBCA just re-ran this episode. I came to this page wondering what happened. LOL. Not surprised. Anything Chef Ramsey touches turns to gold. I love him and watch anything he does. I'm just sorry that all went to hell after all that hard work and that the staff had to deal with that dick head. WOW! What a shame.
